Hand and Wrist Problems
Test Your Knowledge
Question
What is Lister’s Tubercle?
What is its function?
Why should it be relevant to know its anatomical location?
Answer
It is palpable on the dorsum of the radius.
It serves as a pulley for the Extensor Pollicis Longus (EPL) to improve its mechanical efficiency.
The Scapholunate Interossesous Ligament (SLIL) can be found, as a gap, distal to this bony landmark. The SLIL is an important structure in the Hand & Wrist.
