About The Webinar

ACPSEM4

Mixing the latest evidence and 20 years of experience in Musculoskeletal Medicine, Chris McNicholl combines traditional taping techniques and modern taping philosophies to create an excellent webinar for MSK Physios. Chris teaches Athletic Taping to the Post Graduate Programme at Cardiff University and has been delivering courses for the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine throughout the UK for several years.

In this webinar, Chris discusses how modern taping philosophies and tapes such as kinesio and dynamic tape are being fused with traditional techniques to achieve solutions for individuals with movement disorders, and describes how taping can be used through different phases of the injury cycle. He begins by delving into the role tape can play as an adjunct in the management of tendon, muscle and ligamentous/instability disorders, and discusses the clinical effects achieved through taping - including pain relief, muscle activation, alterations in range, proprioception etc. He also examines regional specific techniques (foot, ankle, patellofemoral joint and shoulder) with a critique of the literature and underlying mechanisms of effect descibed.
