This lecture will offer an evidence based update on the contemporary understanding of achilles tendinopathy assessment and rehabilitation. You will be guided through the assessment stage with reference to the risk factors that can play a role in the effectiveness of our rehabilitation plan. Common rehabilitation protocols will be reviewed with reference to the literature and will include an update on the role of isometric exercise, eccentric and heavy slow resistance training. The role of adjuncts will be commented on and the key role of quality patient education will be explored.
