About The Webinar

Whist it is reassuring to remember that serious spinal pathology is rare it actually presents quite a challenge as clinically we are constantly faced with making sure that we do not miss a patient with serious pathology. Red Flags have been developed to help us to identify these serious cases. Combinations of Red Flags should represent a clear reason for further investigations or onward specialist referral.

The previous work of James Selfe and I have tried to inform clinical decision making by developing a hierarchy of Red Flags. This presentation is taking a slightly different approach concentrating on combinations of specific warning signs for two serious spinal pathologies that should be dealt with as emergency conditions, Cauda Equina Syndrome and Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression.
