About The Webinar
This webinar will explore how practitioners can enhance their clinical expertise. The session will be broadly divided into two sections: firstly we will explore what we mean by clinical expertise and then we will consider how we might develop expertise. The first section will explore the term expertise and what we mean by it. Three doctorate studies completed at the School of Health Professions will highlight the ways in which practitioners approach their practice and work with patients and will help to further elucidate what we mean by clinical expertise. The second part of the webinar will then critically explore the typical strategies adopted by practitioners to develop their expertise. The value of direct observation of practice by a mentor to enhance clinical expertise will then be considered.
